SOLENO ($SLNO)
Soleno Therapeutics is a rare-disease biotech company with a monopoly-esque advantage in treating Prader-Willi syndrome hyperphagia centered around VYKAT XR, which is currently the only FDA approved product to treat a condition that has seen each and every competitor fail thus far. The company has already seen impressive traction since launch, with Q3 revenue reaching $66M and fast patient onboarding demonstrating strong market demand. Despite this, the company continues to trade at distressed levels following the controversial actions of Scorpion Capital and the baseless allegation of a patient death that had nothing to do with the company. As there is no viable competitor until at least 2028, and discontinuation rates are consistent with industry norms, we believe Soleno represents a prototypical biotech rerating scenario where the company will see a misunderstanding regarding its safety profile unwind, impressive visibility driven revenue growth, and a one-off product story develop into a solid earnings story.
